W Bar Ranch has been family-owned and operated since 1939 and is now starting on its 5th generation.
When the ranch was started in American Fork, Utah in 1939, livestock was raised to feed our family. Due to the growth in Utah Valley, we knew we would not be able to provide the best environment for our livestock or expand our operations if we stayed. So we moved to Sanpete County, Utah where we had room to grow and provide the quality, stress-free environment our livestock deserve and to start offering quality beef to people outside of the family. The beef we sell NEVER sees a feedlot. Our goal is to provide the best beef, not the most beef. Everything we sell is born here and raised here naturally. Livestock grazes on our pastures and eat when they are hungry. They drink from natural springs located throughout the property when they are thirsty. We introduce grain into their diet 90-days before slaughter but they are still in the pastures eating their fill of grass.
We know what goes into the beef we sell and what doesn’t go into them. Never hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. We wouldn’t feed this to our family so we won’t feed it to yours. That’s our promise. Feedlot beef such as what you buy in the stores comes from feedlots which is about quantity and not quality. Feedlot livestock is kept in large pens and fed rations with fillers, steroids, enhancers, and sometimes medicine to try to keep the herd “healthy”.
